Who We Are
Together we have over 30 years' experience in the trades, with additional background in facilities and property management. We founded Hearthstone Construction in 2016 in Corvallis, OR and partnered with many homeowners, an HOA, and multiple business owners to solve problems, fix issues and build beautiful structures and furniture. In 2023, we relocated to Austin to be close to Susie's family of origin, and rebranded as Back Home Builders. Since then, we've made many happy customers in our Windsor Park neighborhood and beyond.

Ted Wade
Ted has been doing fine custom carpentry and
working in the construction industry for over 30 years. He enjoys finding the perfect balance of efficiency, quality, and affordability. When he’s not building, Ted’s hobbies are CrossFit, making furniture, and playing his guitar.
Business Operations
Susie Bassett
Susie came on as Ted’s apprentice in 2016 and has since gained mastery in all aspects of the business, from estimating to final touches. She enjoys the magic of transforming a space into something beautiful and practical. When she’s not building, Susie’s hobbies are CrossFit, ballroom dancing, and playing with her many nieces and nephews.
